Movie Review : Evolusi KL Drift

Salam and hello to all my dearest readers. Yesterday, I and my two cousins went to GSC Kuantan Megamall to watch this second most awaited Malaysian made drifting related movie, Evolusi KL Drift. Anyhow, this is my first review about the movie that i watched recently. For those who don’t know what this movie is all about, here i quoted the synopsis of this movie.
Zack and Sham are two close friends who enjoy the same hobbies and interests, ‘DRIFT RACING’. Traditionally drift racing is monopolised by guys but it didn’t stop Fasha, Zack’s girlfriend who broke all traditions and made it her hobby as she finds it very daring and aggressive. Zack is more protective of Fasha nowadays considering her identity crisis in the past and bad influences by her friends.
Joe and Karl on the other hand feels threatened when they can’t influence new kids to be interested with drift racing. In order to settle this problem Zack and Joe had made a decision that they would race as a way to let some steam off.

Official trailer for this movie,
Okay here is what i’m going to say about this movie. Honestly say, i put such a ‘big expectation’ about this movie. The reason is because i already watched its trailer and behind the scenes part, so i expect this movie can give a satisfaction for those who paid to watch the movie. Ok, the opening part of the movie was quite excellent which somehow quite the same as Too Fast Too Furious (if i’m not mistaken). Just changed some part little bit. The beginning part of the movie was about a racing between Zack (cast by Syamsul Yusof, also the director and script writer of the movie), Fasha (cast by Fasha Sandha) and Muz (cast by Rizal Ashraf). What can i said about the race part is, awesome. A good try and well done by the cinematography crew. Anyway, i don’t know why the camera keep shaking, and keep zooming in and out, huh.. or are they want to make this movie really cgi-free movie?Lols.. why they can’t just keep focusing on the cars rather than zooming in and out like the one in Initial D?I think it much more better way to show the drifting part to the audience.
Then about the storyline, according to my cousin, its really quite the same with Too Fast Too Furious and as what i said earlier it just changed a little bit. I’m agreeing with him. However, the storyline still have some different and i think its okay to get some idea from others movie. Compare to the first drifting movie, Impak Maksima, i think Evolusi KL Drift really did a good job to give a satisfaction for those who watch the movie. No more ‘cartoon-like-cgi’ and what so ever, everything was done by stuntman and professional drifter. *big clap*
Apart from that, the movie was okay for me and i rated it with 4 stars out of 5. For drifting enthusiast, this movie is worth to watch. Big applause to all filming crew for their effort to change and improve the Malay Film industry. ![]()

i think the shaking camera was psycologically to bring audince not to notice there is no other car on the road.it was so well done trick.if they try to make it clean shot u will notice kuala lumpur is so peacefull.everybody is stoping when the car drifting.no realism at all.
but awesome.the cinematographer was so good.anyway i agree with u.is worth to watch.
yup.
The cinematographer really did a good job to make this movie a successful drifting movie. But anyway, the ending somehow put some question to the audience. Did Joe is dead in the accident? because the ending is just like that, or there are any plan for Evolusi KL Drift 2?huhu.. who knows?
is it?
