2008 Is A Memory, 2009 Is A New Book

Salam and hello all. You might wondering what’s the title is all about. Only one word to describe it off, review. Yes, actually this post is a review post about what I had throughout the year of 2008. I know it is quite late for me to write such post because we already at the last day of January 2009 now, but it is still early of 2009, right? Even I know some of you have written such post before the end of 2008 but January 2009 is not too late. Hoho. Anyway, this post is a short review about what happened throughout the year of 2008, what I have achieved, did I achieved my 2008 resolution and what my resolution for this 2009. Get it? I start with the review part first about what I have faced throughout the year of 2008. The important thing that I should remember and my others precious moment. It might be long, but I’ll keep it simple.

1. IzzatRuslan.com was born – Yep, 2008 is the year which IzzatRuslan.com was born into this world of blogsphere. Read more about it here.
2. Sayonara to Blogspot – 2008 also is the year I decided to move from Blogspot platform to paid hosting with WordPress platform. This migration has been taken after considering few reasons and I know it was a right decision.
3. I’ve taken Japanese language course and learnt Japanese language – Ya, ya.. I love Japanese drama so much and do love to know how the proper way to speak Japanese and how to write those hiragana, katakana and kanji characters. So, that’s why I have to take Japanese course so I can know and learn about it. You can read about my 2 months plus Japanese course here. Although 2 months is not enough to cover all part of the language, but I have the basic of it that can help me to learn more on my own. Isn’t it useful?
4. My first abroad vacation – 2008 is also the year for my first abroad vacation. Although the vacation was not together with my family, but I really hope that I can go again to Bali, Indonesia with my family once again. Read about my Bali journey here.
5. Move outside my campus – Again, 2008 is the year where I decided to stay outside my campus. It is not because staying inside the campus is not good but, I think and I know I can save more on my money by staying outside the campus. So, now I stayed outside my campus and quiet satisfied with my current medium apartment that I rented together with my two housemates. More freedom and save more money. Yosh! Even the petrol price has been reduced, hence I’ll save more!

Do my 2008 resolutions achieved? This is also review actually, so for this part, let’s do the review back about what I had targeted for the year of 2008. I wrote it here, but I’ll quoted it in this post for easy review.

1. Since my CGPA of my last semester is little bit make me feel safe, well I’m not so satisfied but really grateful with the result..erm, so this semester or any semester along this year, I’ll try and struggle to get at least 3.0, that’s the target. So I might be busy this year..lol..
2. I want to improve my photography skills. Well last year gonna be memorable year where I’m start photographing back since my last camera from my dad already broken..
3. Improve my writing, listening and speaking in English, the main language used in my university, well I’m still improving till now. Maybe I need to gain more vocabulary then to improve my speaking level OR read more English articles,magazines and etc?…erm..
4.Lastly, I hope this blog will be hit 10000 hits by the end of this year..lols..huhu.. just another simple resolution..~

To make it simple.

1. DONE
2. Maybe you can tell me about it for this part. Although none of my picture’s win any competitions yet, but I think I’ve improved myself in this photography field. At least, I understand about some sort of camera settings to get this result and that result.
3. I think I’ve improved although I know there are some mistakes that I’m still doing. But, we learn from mistake, right?
4. DONE

As the conclusion, I’ve achieved at least 2 from 4 of my resolutions. So it is not quite disappointed, at least I have some points about what I’ve to improve and maintain for the upcoming years.

So, next is all about what I want to achieve for this year of 2009 and what I wish for this year. Since I’ve written before about how to set up new resolutions, so, I’ll use that tips to set up my new resolutions for this year. Here it goes.

1. Since I’ve achieved my first resolution of 2008, so for 2009, my first resolution is to maintain it and keep improving.
2. Improve more on my English writing and speaking skills. Hence, this blog will be the main platform in term of practicing my writing skills. I know there are some readers out there that really care about my blog writing quality, so I’ll try to improve it as I could.
3. Create and design my own WordPress theme from scratch. Haha, this also will be my resolution because I hate whenever I can’t edit and alter certain WordPress theme that I like because I don’t understand how the designer coded the theme. Hence, I’ll learn to code it by myself so, I’ll understand each part of the theme. Huhu.

Ok, that’s all. I don’t have any interest to add more and crash my brain to think about it. Three is more than enough. Haha. Next, I want to add some more. It is about my wish for this 2009, actually my wish-list. Ok, here it goes. *Please continue reading ya..*

1. DSLR camera – Since I’ve used my prosumer camera Olympus SP550uz for about one year plus and already found the camera limitation, I think this will be the right time to move into DSLR world. But, since money is the problem now, I’ll keep this into my wish-list.
2. Have a vacation with my family to Bali, Indonesia – Since last time it wasn’t with my family, so I wish this year we can go altogether with all family members. Why Bali? Because it is an amazing and beautiful place for vacation. Hoho. Ok, ok.. I don’t mind, any other places is ok but the main thing is, with all family members.

Ok, that’s all. I’m not demanding something out of my capabilities. Huh, finish! Is it long? Haha, if you’ve read down till here, thanks a lot. Sorry I don’t have any prize for it.

p/s: Today I turned 21, time moving so fast. But, this post is not a dedicated post for today. hehe.
