15Mbps Streamyx? Or Is It Streamyx is Improving?

This entry was posted on Nov 13 2009

Salam and hello all. We have already heard about the plan of High-Speed Broadband (HSBB) project that will be carried out soon which able broadband users in Malaysia to enjoy high speed broadband from 10Mbps and up to 1Gbps. Well, I’m not going to write any elaboration, comments, expectations and hopes regarding this next generation of broadband in Malaysia, but what I’m going to share with you is the screenshot below.

15Mbps Streamyx is coming?

This is the screenshot of Streamyx 1Mbps Home Wireless Broadband package broadband speed test by SpeedTest.net and the test was done by my cousin today (13th November 2009) around 1.00 am. Do you see the download speed? What do you have across your mind now? Haha, I have no idea how this could be happened. By the way, you don’t have to worry because it happened only once. Haha! Several tests after above test have shown normal broadband speed around 1.4Mbps download and 0.48Mbps upload.

Even it happened only once, SpeedTest.net has calculated that, to download a movie of 800mb, it would take only 8 minutes of time. Great! I just wish we have that speed really soon and with affordable price. Even some rumors have said, the monthly subscription for 10Mbps broadband connection will cost you around RM500/monthly, I hope these rumors are wrong.

So, what would you say? Do write your views regarding this HSBB using the comment box below.

Well, until next entry. Bye! :)

  1. hahaha gilos..tmnut tgh try tuh..huhu..today aku dpt speed 400kkbps speed download constant..dasat jugak la utk tmnet 1.5mbps..huhu

  2. Aku guna wimax dh puas hati. Guna sorg2. Tp nk kena gak psg streamyx ni nnt kt kg aku sbb wimax xdpt kt sna. So bg aku wlupun ada High Speed Broadband stil ramai lg org yg xdpt guna sbb coverage mcm hampeh

  3. nope…harga sampai rm500 tuh rumors jer…actually bler dier buat HSBB nih, harga akan jadik makin murah.around RM100-rm150 jer subscription dier. arituh orang yang pergi kursus HSBB nih gitaw.tapi da luper sebab apa.hehe….

btw,HSBB nih trial version lagi. KL ngan lembah klang officially start guna by march 2010. then penang, JB dan lain2…pengalaman berpraktikal kat TM.hehe

  4. slowly wait ler for the 15mbps speed from Streamyx maybe in 10 years time..that’s my honest opinion…like the P1 wimax said..potong je la..haha

  5. still wondering if tmnet really upgrade the service…maybe the service is still sucks because of the infra monopoly bt tmnut…sigh..

just want to add some fact that i know bout HSBB, SKMM is paying tmnut to upgrade the infra using people money…yet they are the one who making all the profit…sigh again…

  6. Aku pun terasa ada improve 2-3 hari ni..
    Mungkinkah betul?

  7. Kalau RM500/month untuk 15mb, kepala otak dia berjambul.. xde sapa nak masuk de ai. kat luar speed gempak harga plak lagi murah dari screamyx yg sekarang.. x logik langsung.

Neway aku guna w1max sekarang n puas hati sgt2.. kelam kabut gila Streamyx sekarang sbb dah ada persaingan hebat.. kalau tak bertahun2, kat tampuk tu je la x berubah2.. bengong.

  8. Waduh! Betul ke ni? Kok laju benar?! Enak ni.. Sayangnya gua udah ‘potong’.. Isk isk..

  9. harap adalah perubahan dengan HSBB ni. Aku menyesal langgan P1 Wimax sebab speed dia macam taik kuching je. Dah 5 hari tak boleh load page pertama walaupun signal dia tunjuk hijau.

  10. I doubt it’s gonna cost RM500/monthly … it just doesn’t make sense when TM (and the government) wants mass adoption.

Anyway, I’m super excited over HSBB. We are living in exciting times!

  11. @Roslan Nazri, kan best kalau selalu dapat camni..hehe

@Fazreen, tu la. wireless broadband ni satu je prob die, coverage.

@Aidi Safuan, owh terima kasih kongsi info. Maksudnya, broadband 1Mbps mungkin akan jadi bawah RM100/bulan. Satu berita baik tu.

@Hong C.W. haha, just wait and see.. :D

@Capo Grande, yep.. we will wait for the improvement whether it is achieved as planned or not. Well, it might be too early to come into conclusion about HSBB. Let’s give chance to our government to prove their promise.

@Zool, kalau betul, itu berita baik!

@Khai, haha..itu la pasal, nasib baik la tu rumor je. Persaingan yang sihat ni menguntungkan pengguna, iaitu kita sendiri tapi selagi infrastruktur masih dimonopoli oleh TM, persaingannya hanya setakat inilah. Kita tunggu dan lihat apa perkembangan seterusnya.

@MediaHehe, udah potong? Sambung kembali aja! :D

@Zaharibb, masalah2 camni biasa jadi untuk wireless broadband. Jadi sebelum langgan tu, kena pastikan backup nye ada, siapa lagi? Jawab sendiri..hehe

@Jason, ya..I hope what they are into becomes a reality, not just a talk.

  12. no i don’t think it’s gonna be 500/month.
the price cap will fall, let’s say for 1mbps package around 38~
10 mbps should fit within 200-350 (still very expansive).

when that happens, those bullshit broadband digi, maxis, celcom better lower their price.

  13. Bagos la skang banyak competitor maxis pon tgh try FTTH kat malaysia.. tgk dia punya speed untuk sorang beta tester http://img705.imageshack.us/img705/9997/623119038.png

  14. Um, biar betul streamyx boleh laju sampai gitu. Boleh tahan. Depend pada pakej?

  15. @Ariff, let’s wait and see what will happen next. hehe :D

  17. @tmnut, betul la tu…mana mungkin TM dapat beri speed camtu tetiba. Tgk video pemasangan HSBB pun macam komplikated je..

  18. Local server speed is fast. But when go out from Malaysia is the problem. :P

  19. @Jayce, I know that..it is even admitted by the TM itself. Their going out connection to oversea servers are slow, but I’m still wondering when they are going to stable the speed, at least at the speed we subscribed for Streamyx.

  20. eh.. tumpang tanye.. streamyx klu xbayar 3 bulan kene cut speed x?

  21. @Syome Ace, bukan cut speed, tapi kena potong terus..huhu..selagi tak bayar, takde la streamyx. Kalau tak silap kena bayar 70% daripada jumlah tunggakan, baru TM akan sambung balik Streamyx
