Opening Entry for The New Year of 2010

Salam and hello everyone. I think it is not too late for me to wish you all Happy New Year 2010 even today is already third day of new year. Well, usually in the beginning of new year, some of us will review back what they had in the past year and at the same time come out with new resolutions, targets and changes to be achieved by the end of this year.

So, in this entry, I’m going to write a review about what I had for last year, 2009. Either my resolutions I’ve set for 2009 achieved or not, still on going or otherwise. Even some of us said resolutions or targets not only to be set annually, but should be set every day; in my personal opinion, it’s depend on what kind of targets or resolution you want to achieve. For me, targets or resolutions can be divided into 2 types; long-term and short-term. The short-term targets might be suitable to be set every day, means your target for today or for this week or for this month. Something easy to achieve for a short period of time. For example, wake up early every day. Targets or resolutions such as buy a car or getting a new position as project manager probably are suitable to be categorized under long-term targets which it takes a longer time to be achieved. Well, it’ll depend on how you look at your target. Some people think wake up early in the morning is a hard thing to do every day and will take a longer time to get familiar with the routine, but some other people think it is an easy thing to achieve. Whatever it is, life needs target or resolution. So that we know where we are heading to. Agree with me?

First, I’m going to review back my last year resolutions whether they have been achieved or not. Based on this entry which I have written last year, let’s see whether they have been achieved or not.

Since I’ve achieved my first resolution of 2008, so for 2009, my first resolution is to maintain it and keep improving.

Improve more on my English writing and speaking skills. Hence, this blog will be the main platform in term of practicing my writing skills. I know there are some readers out there that really care about my blog writing quality, so I’ll try to improve it as I could.

Create and design my own WordPress theme from scratch. Haha, this also will be my resolution because I hate whenever I can’t edit and alter certain WordPress theme that I like because I don’t understand how the designer coded the theme. Hence, I’ll learn to code it by myself so, I’ll understand each part of the theme.

In short, the result is:

1. Fail! Due to 1 semester which I’ve failed to maintain, my CGPA was dropped below 3.0 about 0.03. I need to work harder this year so that I can level up my CGPA back to 3.0 and above.
2. How do I evaluate this? Well, I think I’m still improving and learning.
3. Still on going and working on it. Maybe there will be major transformation for this blog soon. But yet to know when the transformation will happen. Stay tuned.

All in all, I’m still working on to achieve last year resolutions. Means, I’ll keep last year resolutions into this year and working on it. Next is about my wish-list I had last year.

DSLR camera – Since I’ve used my prosumer camera Olympus SP550uz for about one year plus and already found the camera limitation, I think this will be the right time to move into DSLR world. But, since money is the problem now, I’ll keep this into my wish-list.

Have a vacation with my family to Bali, Indonesia – Since last time it wasn’t with my family, so I wish this year we can go altogether with all family members. Why Bali? Because it is an amazing and beautiful place for vacation. Hoho. Ok, ok.. I don’t mind, any other places is ok but the main thing is, with all family members.

In short, the result is:

1. Yes! I got my first DSLR about 3 months ago. You can check out this entry. Well, I need to thank you to my dad because supporting my hobby.
2. Still don’t have chances to have a family trip last year because we don’t have time where all of family members are at home. Sometimes during my holiday, my other two sisters at school. Sometimes when all of my siblings are at home, my dad is going to busy with his business (usually at the end of the year). Haih.. I hope this year we all can have a trip to somewhere.

Well, as you can see. There are some of my resolutions and wish-list are not accomplish and I need to work on it so that it can be accomplished. So, do I need new resolutions for this year? I think it would be better if I keep working on my not accomplish resolutions from last year. So, do you have set your new resolutions or keep working on last year resolutions? But for wish-list, I think I need something to replace my old-poor-battery-life-and-full-of-scratch SE K550i phone with something factory smell, nice with build-in QWERTY keyboard and WIFI enabled phone. Blackberry? Hoho. 3G? I don’t think I need that. Haha!
