SKMM (MCMC) Blocked Access to 10 Most Popular File Sharing Websites; Thank You KPDNKK
Salam and hello everyone. After a long period of time I didn’t update this blog, finally I’m able to update it today with this ‘surprising’ news for all beloved Malaysian downloaders. Thank you Suruhanjaya Komunikasi dan Multimedia Malaysia (SKMM) for blocking all those top 10 most popular file sharing websites as listed below.
- http://www.warez-bb.org – Ok, I’ve downloaded few “FREE” Educational e-books from here.
- http://www.thepiratebay.org - I’m not torrent user, never mind.
- http://www.movie2k.to – My first heard about this website.
- http://www.megavideo.com – Never use this website before.
- http://www.putlocker.com – Same with MegaVideo.
- http://www.depositfiles.com – My alternative movie download source.
- http://www.duckload.com – Owh, download speed is slow from this website, never mind.
- http://www.fileserve.com – T_T This is my main source of downloading JDorama and KDrama.
- http://www.filestube.com – Not really use it, never mind.
- http://www.megaupload.com – Darn, this can’t be true!
According to an official letter from SKMM to all Malaysia Internet Service Provider (ISP), the reason behind this blocking action is to protect public revenue and preserve national security under Section 263 (2) of the Communication and Multimedia Act 1998. Ok, that’s the reason, so take it positively. If you want to read the whole official letter, proceed here.
So, what are you going to do? Asking SKMM to take back the action? Protesting? Crying? Or maybe find a “clever” but effective solution for this action. Hello fellow Malaysian, we have used internet for years, we have learnt a lot of things from this boundary-less internet space. Some of us have been a hacker just by learning it from the internet. Thank you MSC. So, used it to overcome the problem right now. *Ok, I give you the hint, so go Google now**Domain Name System (DNS)*
*Update: DNS seems not the solution to bypass these blocking. Let’s look at another solution. 
TM has started blocking some of those listed websites for both its Streamyx and UniFi customers, but not all websites are blocked.
p/s: Anyway, those listed soon-to-be-blocked websites are still accessible.

rasanya SKMM ni tak berapa betul la. setahu aku la, website mcm thepiratebay.org mane ade publish citer malaysia ni. tu Swedish server. no wonder cannot access. kita protect malaysian movie sudey. da la TM throttle Streamyx user, bukan tak bayar tapi suke mak bapak dia je suruh ambil package Unifi. tak semua org mampu. da la tu, gaji swasta lg rendah dari government. cmner nk amik package unifi. tak buat market research ke. ni baru kira lanun nk kaut untung. apa la government, protect sgt diorg ni smpai naik kepala. tgk la proton & perodua, asyik kuar keta yg xde kualiti. bila kita nk beli honda, toyota & etc harga tinggi sbb duti & tax. kadang2 sampai naik menyampah bila rosak sana sini & xde coverage. sabar je la…sigh

The used of web proxy may able you to view the unblock websites but certain features on the websites may be disabled or there will be loading issue. The best way to get access on the unblock websites is either by using alternative public DNS (OpenDNS, or Google DNS etc) rather than default Malaysia ISP DNS, and the other method is by using Virtual Private Network (VPN), but it will cost you some monthly fee for the service. You may find several affordable and reliable VPN services out there and there is also Malaysia’s based company which offer this service. Just Google it and hopefully you’ll find what you want.

Guna Google DNS, iaitu “8.8.8.8” dan “8.8.4.4”.
ikut je step kat bawah ni:

1. Klik kanan pada ikon ‘Internet access’ pada taskbar anda, dan pilih “Open Network and Sharing Center”
2. Pada sidebar kiri, klik “Change adapter settings’”
3. Klik kanan pada sambungan Internet yang anda gunakan, dan pilih ‘Properties’
4. Pilih “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)” dan klik pada butang ‘Properties’
5. Tandakan pada kotak “Use the following DNS server addresses” dan masukkan nilai berikut:
* Preferred DNS server: 8.8.8.8
* Alternate DNS server: 8.8.4.4
6. Klik OK dan tutup je tetingkap tu.
