Irresponsible Malaysian: Stop Any Provoking Actions

Salam and hello everyone. I hope you are in good health, both mentally and physically. Anyway, I think you aware about the current issues in Malaysia right now and lately, about the arson attempt on two surau in Muar. But I’m not going to write any speculations or assumptions regarding this incident, but any speculations and assumptions are possible to relate this incident with any unwanted incident happened before. Well, you guess what?

PETALING JAYA: Four men, including the son of a policeman, were arrested by Johor police for Thursday’s arson attempt on two surau in Muar, Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar said Saturday. He said the suspects, aged between 16 and 28 years old, were picked up in separate raids conducted on Friday from morning to evening, and, with their arrests, believes the case has been solved. I don’t know what are these fellow Malaysian were thinking before they did something. Have they thought about the consequences from their actions? From what I’ve observed so far, what I can say is they didn’t think about the consequences from their actions and act emotionally without rational thinking. Come on fellow Malaysian, we are independent and free country, we have law and constitution. We have right channel and medium to express out opinion, thought and standpoint. Follow that, simple. Doing these kinds of provoking actions will not bring us anywhere, but can cause the issue becomes worse.

Anyway, as I said earlier, I don’t want to comment this issue and come out with any speculations because I believe you, Malaysian are clever and can think rationally before taking any actions. Think before you act. Think about the consequences. Together we protect this country’s harmony and peace. We are 1Malaysia, right?

15Mbps Streamyx? Or Is It Streamyx is Improving?

Salam and hello all. We have already heard about the plan of High-Speed Broadband (HSBB) project that will be carried out soon which able broadband users in Malaysia to enjoy high speed broadband from 10Mbps and up to 1Gbps. Well, I’m not going to write any elaboration, comments, expectations and hopes regarding this next generation of broadband in Malaysia, but what I’m going to share with you is the screenshot below.

This is the screenshot of Streamyx 1Mbps Home Wireless Broadband package broadband speed test by SpeedTest.net and the test was done by my cousin today (13th November 2009) around 1.00 am. Do you see the download speed? What do you have across your mind now? Haha, I have no idea how this could be happened. By the way, you don’t have to worry because it happened only once. Haha! Several tests after above test have shown normal broadband speed around 1.4Mbps download and 0.48Mbps upload.

Even it happened only once, SpeedTest.net has calculated that, to download a movie of 800mb, it would take only 8 minutes of time. Great! I just wish we have that speed really soon and with affordable price. Even some rumors have said, the monthly subscription for 10Mbps broadband connection will cost you around RM500/monthly, I hope these rumors are wrong.

Video Sajak Kematian ; Should or Shouldn’t?

Salam and hello all. If you watch Buletin Utama on TV3 in these few days, you might noticed that the current hot news now is not about isu penceraian Norman Hakim and Abby Abadi but about the video called Sajak Kematian that has been showed to a group of primary school students. Honestly, I already watched this video about months ago when my mom found it on Youtube. My youngest brother of me who currently in standard 4 also has watched this video. Although my youngest brother can accept such video positively, but for other kids especially primary school students, we can’t do the assumption that they can accept it. What I just want to highlight is, this kind of video should be reconsider to be presented to primary school students. Why I’m saying that? Here are some of my personal points of view regarding the effects of showing this kind of video to a young student:

They are still young and might be can’t accept such video.
This kind of video for me is not suitable for them as according to the news it cause the student live in scared. Its not because they scared to do bad things but scared of ‘something’ that showed in the video.
There’s another way of teaching them to be a good person. This kind of way of teaching from my personal view is not suitable for them; teachers should use another effective method that can come out with more good result, not causing them to live in scared.

You can watch the video above and judge it by yourself either its suitable or not for primary school students. I know teachers did this to teach the students to be a good people and to prevent social problems that currently going worst now, but this kind of method is not suitable for a primary school student. I’ll agree if this method applied to secondary school students since they are matured enough and maybe their level of acceptance can help them to understand better what the video trying to deliver compare to primary school students. Have me hear some of your words regarding this issue by drop your comment below.

p/s: Prevention is better than cure but is this kind of prevention is effective?

Barack Obama, The Next President of United State of America

Salam and hello to all. As you already know, the US presidency Election Day already passed and the result already came out. So as for the result, Barack Obama won the election and will become the next US president. What I hope for is, Barack Obama can change the global views towards America.

Some short introduction about Barack Obama. Barack Obama is a son of black father from Kenya (That’s the reason why Kenya’s peoples had a party to celebrate this winning) and a white mother from Kansas. This Democratic senator from Illinois sealed his victory after defeating his competitor from Republican Party which is Senator John McCain. To read more info about this news you can proceed here.

As the economy of the US itself is going down right now, the main thing that Barack Obama will do as a new President of United State is to tackle the economy and fix their current economy crisis. Another great news is, Barack Obama will withdraw most of US Army that currently in Iraq right now within 16 months. So these are part of the first steps that Obama will take. From my opinion, these first steps that will be taken by Barack Obama as new president are great to change how the world look towards America in the next few years. Many people’s around the globe are congratulating his winning and hope to see the changing that Obama will bring and believed that he can bring a change. If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible; who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time; who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer.

Agree with him. The power of democracy can change the country and change the country’s future. What I’m wondering, is there any possibility for my country, Malaysia to have the same way of selecting the Prime Minister of Malaysia? I means through the election? Till now, the way of selecting the Prime Minister of Malaysia is just simple as the person below the current Prime Minister will become the next Prime Minister after the current Prime Minister retired. I think Malaysia should also implement a democracy way of selecting the Prime Minister as what American did to select their president of the country.

Saudara Khairy berpesan kepada warga Malaysia untuk tidak terlalu menaruh harapan kepada Barack Obama dari segi dasar luar Amerika Syarikat, sungguhpun populariti calon parti Demokrat itu amat tinggi di negara Malaysia. Ini kerana walaupun Obama yang dijangka menang dilihat lebih sedia mendampingi para pemimpin negara Islam berbanding lawannya John McCain dari parti Republikan, beliau juga mempunyai kedudukan pro-Israel dalam soal kemelut konflik Palestin.

Dalam soal hak asasi manusia pula, Saudara Yusmadi menaruh harapan bahawa Presiden baru Amerika Syarikat akan memperjuangkan hak asasi manusia sejagat, sejajar dengan Deklarasi Hak Asasi Manusia Pertubuhan Bangsa-bangsa Bersatu. Saudara Khairy bersetuju dengan pandangan tersebut, tetapi meluahkan kekhuatirannya terhadap tradisi Demokrat yang tampak lebih sedia campur tangan dalam negara lain atas alasan memperjuangkan hak asasi manusia.

Saudara Khairy berpendapat bahawa dalam isu ekonomi, Obama merupakan calon yang lebih elok untuk Malaysia kerana tampak lebih bersikap adil dalam rundingan Perjanjian Perdagangan Bebas (PPB) seperti yang dilihat dari kecenderungan untuk membatalkan PPB Amerika Utara (NAFTA). Maka, sesiapa pun yang mengambil alih tampuk Presiden Amerika Syarikat perlu lebih menghormati kepentingan Malaysia dalam apa-apa rundingan PPB yang mungkin diadakan kembali pada masa hadapan.

I don’t have anything to comment since these are their opinion. But, another response by current Malaysia Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi regarding the Obama winning attracted my attention. For full news you can read here. But I quoted what he said;

It is up to the people to decide, just as the Americans had done through the democratic process.

And here Malaysia? Are we not democratic enough?

Opposition leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said;

I call on him to immediately act on the need to engage with all quarters and to try first to
withdraw from Iraq.

Tun Dr Mahathir Going Back Into Umno? : More Agenda After This

Salam and hello everyone. Do you know this news? Tun Mahathir, our ex-prime minister has decided to back into UMNO after he was decided to quit from UMNO last time. I don’t know what political drama currently showing in our country right now, but I believe that this decision of Tun Mahathir who wants to going back into UMNO will bring a big impact to our politic arena. With Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim currently in Parliament, I’m sure there will many story will come out after this. But, whatever it is I hope it will bring a good result to our country. I don’t care who will govern our country, but what I care is what they will do for this country and more important, it will benefits the rakyat.

New Fuel Price Announced by PM

Salam and hello to all. Today, our Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has announced new fuel price starting tomorrow. I can’t deny it, it was a good news for all of us although its not really much. I checked The Star online and found the details about this matter. Well, I quoted it for you to read.

PUTRAJAYA: Petrol and diesel price will drop by between eight sen and 22 sen a litre from Saturday.
The price of RON97 petrol will be reduced by 15 sen to RM2.55 a litre from RM2.70, while RON92 would be 22 sen less at RM2.40, from RM2.62
The retail price of diesel would drop by eight sen to RM2.50 a litre.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi announced the new prices in a statement after Friday’s Cabinet meeting.
He said the prices were determined by taking into account the actual price from Aug 1 to 21 and the 30 sen per litre subsidy borne by the government while the subsidy for diesel, based on the new price, was 50 sen a litre.
“The cabinet decided to bring forward the enforcement date for adjustment of the new petrol price,” he said. Source: The Star online.

I don’t want to discuss about this news to be related to any political matters although it has to do with it. I let you think about it. But, one thing I’m so sure is, the price for foods, taxi fee, bus ticket and everything will not going down because as we know this fuel price will change time by time, so don’t surprised if the price will going up again and maybe more expensive from what we had just now. So, be ready. Some rumors said, the price will going up to rm4.00/litre, then what we going to eat? !@#$%^&*!

Disclaimer: This is not a kind of political post. It is just an opinion post from me about the issue as an observer. I’m not pro-government or pro-opposition, its an opinion from a normal Malaysian.

Salam and hello all. Have you watch this live debate between Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Datuk Ahmad Shaberi Cheek last Tuesday night? I knew about the debate but don’t have chance to watch it live. But anyway, thanks to Youtube for providing such a great service so I can watch it lastly. You might already read somewhere else, in other blogs, in newspapers, or heard from your friends or others about how this debate goes. Even I didn’t watch it live, but when I asked my friend who watched it, obviously from what they said, I can tell how this debate goes.

One of my friend said, Datuk Ahmad Shabery Cheek looks no idea which most of the time attacked Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on the personal side and always talked about the past story of Datuk Seri Anwar. Fortunately, Datuk Seri Anwar took all that professionally and explaining what the rakyat need to know, the truth behind these entire fuel price hikes.

When I watch the video of the debate from the Youtube, sometimes it impressed me on how Datuk Seri Anwar answered all the questions given to him. I can see how calm Datuk Seri Anwar answered all the questions and Datuk Ahmad Shabery from the start, always talked about the same point, repeating this and that, and attacked Datuk Seri Anwar personal matters and about his past. Agree with me? I’m not saying that Datuk Ahmad Shabery is not good, but I think he should talked more on facts, not just repeating the same thing.

Datuk Seri Anwar talked mostly based on facts and with good informations to be delivered to the rakyat and that’s the good thing that I can see from Datuk Seri Anwar talks. Where for Datuk Ahmad Shabery, as I can see he trying to defend the government about this fuel price hikes.. huhu No wonder la, he’s government people. But, I believe and confident that, the rakyat can think positively and wisely about all these matters from the debate last Tuesday night.

There’s also some questions that asked by the panel to Datuk Shabery Cheek but in my opinion, some of it, he didn’t answered as what the question asked. You can watch the videos and judge it by yourself. Here another more great post regarding this issue from other bloggers and I think its good to share with you. So check them out.

Beware! Another SCAM sms

Salam and hello all. I received another SCAM sms last Friday which somehow same as what I was posted before. Anyway this time it was from PETRONAS as it was said in the sms. As I expected, the spammer also used PETRONAS name to send the scam sms. The detail of the sms is as follow.

From: +60178908327 (Hey! Maxis subscriber again!)

PENGUMUMAN dari PETRONAS Mlys, TAHNIAH! No’ simcard anda tlh memenangi Undian bertuah Cek tunai RM15,000.00 Sila Hubungi: 012 201 5627 / 012 201 8657 Terima Kasih.

I checked Petronas official website, they still don’t have any announcement regarding this issue. Maybe they know but they just ignore it.

So please don’t fell into this trap. Just a simple reminder from me. If you curious to know more, you can call that number above. But, I won’t be responsible for any loss.

p/s: Did Maxis Anti-Spam Protection really works? Lols..

Hello all, as we’re know, blogging somehow becomes a trend in Malaysia recently. Everyone want to start and open their own blog. So, our respectful Malaysia ex-prime minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad is not excepted. He also wants to involve in this world without border and as he’s first step is start blogging! Yes, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad already started blogging. I noticed about this when some of bloggers out there keep posting about this news and I’m not shocked to know about it as it can be expected as others Malaysia politician also start blogging. [Read Blogging and Malaysia Politician] But as expected also, his coming in this blogsphere is really awaited. Don’t get what I mean? His blog got thousands of comments for his first entry in his blog. And guess, when his first entry? 1 MAY 2008! And his blog already got lots of exposures since there are many bloggers already spread out the news. Hoho.. I even can’t enter his blog last night and what I got is internal server error which may occur due to a very high traffic. Currently, his blog got 157597 visitors in just 3 days! Awesome?

But anyway, he is the one that I personally salute for his standpoints, thinking and what he already gave to us, Malaysian. Beware! SCAM & SPAM sms!

Hello all, recently I had read some blogs that wrote about what we called unwanted sms or maybe we can call it spam sms. Guess what, I got it too about few days ago. Something similar with others but little bit different but still, the message in the sms is the same. Another annoying sms is called scam sms. These type of sms should be ignored and never ever follow what you asked to do in that sms. Otherwise, there’ll be something for you.. and I’m sure its not a good for you. And for sure I won’t believe these sms.

Anyway, the thing that keeps me wondering is, how the senders (sms spammers) know my phone number? Because, I have never ever reveal or mention my phone number to any 3rd-party peoples except for something that I really and pretty sure that my phone number won’t be reveal to anybody such as for my university application, scholarship application and etc. Then, how they get it? *thinking..hmmm

This is one of the scam sms that I received lately, it may looks something similar with others scam sms which mention some big company names like Petronas, Shell and Astro. According to my brother, my dad also received the same sms few weeks before me.

Ok, this is the full message in this sms,

From: +628159184910 TAHNIAH!! SimCard Anda Tlh Berjaya Memenangi BONUS Cek Bertuah (RM17.000,00) dari Office “SHELL” Sila Call/Tlp di Talian: O06281318673111 Terima Kasih.

First impression, wow! Because of that “TAHNIAH” actually and after opened the whole sms.. LOLS.. What’s this? Trying to cheat on me? Hehehe.. Since when I give my phone number to that Office “SHELL”?? More, do they know how to write a number correctly? How do you supposed to write rm17k? RM17.000,00 or RM17,000.00? I think they should go back to school la.. learn back on how to write properly..haha.. Another thing that makes me doubt is, the number that they asked me to call. Lol.. this one also wrong la.. since when a phone number got word? Don’t get what I meant? In the message, the number that was written is this, O06281318673111. Noted that, in the beginning of the number is not the number of zero or 0 but a word of ‘O’. Ok2.. I know I should just ignored this message beside did this much of analysis. LOLS… Ok, I ignore it.

Because I’m so bored today, I go surfing on the net and I found something that can support my analysis. Here I quoted that something. Hehe.

Please do not reply but ignore the sms and lodge a police report.

All winner announcements for contests run by Shell are advertised in the media and available on the Shell Malaysia website www.shell.com.my. Winners will also receive a phone call informing them of their win by a Shell appointed agency. At which point, our agency will need to verify the winner’s name, NRIC and address for the prizes to be couriered to the winners. We do NOT require any bank account numbers, etc. If ever in doubt, please do check the website to ensure that you are indeed a Shell contest winner.

So, please take note that there are no such competitions that will announce their winner via sms. Lodge a police report? I think I don’t need to do that, just waste of time. Huhu. If I lodge a report, is there any action they can do? Track the senders? If they really can track back the sender’s phone number then why they never caught anyone that sent those sms?

Ok now stop talking about those scam sms. Next, another annoying sms, SPAM sms. So here are some of the spam messages that I received lately. And still don’t have any idea how they get my phone number.

And my question is, since when my name is kk? Sam? This is not a kind of salah hantar sms but really a spam. Note that two of the messages are the same, same content but different sender. Lols… But look at their phone numbers seem like they used Celcom and Maxis as their mobile operator. Hmm.. maybe I can lodge a report to Celcom, claim that this number and this number sent me these annoying sms and maybe Celcom can block their phone number and simcard. Hahaha But again, too lazy to do that or maybe I should??

Although its still not so many, maybe two or three messages but I’m sure it’ll getting worse soon if there are no action taken to avoid and prevent it. Maybe after Maxis applied Maxis SPAM Protection to its entire network, this problem can be solve but still little bit doubt about it. Isn’t they also the one who sent those annoying messages? Ask me to subscribe this and that.. Lols.. or maybe this is their new way of advertising their new service. Huhu.. Maxis users might know what I meant. Lols.. whatever. Hopefully, they can come out with a way to prevent these SPAM and SCAM sms. Say no to SPAM and SCAM sms!!
