Fake Miniature/Tilt-Shift Lens Effect: First Experimental Attempt

Salam and hello everyone. Since I have not posted any photo related entry after my last photo entries about Formula 1 Grand Prix last time, hence for this time I want to share with you my first experimental attempt on fake miniature as known as tilt-shift lens effect. The different between fake or original tilt-shift lens effect is just the original tilt-shift lens effect picture is taking using tilt-shift lens which I think, quite costly and the fake one is otherwise. In addition, I don’t have any DSLR yet, so of course I never think to get one of those lens. Anyway, miniature effect or tilt-shift lens effect also can be produced by applying some editing on suitable photos using any photo editing software like Adobe Photoshop or Photoscape and this is what we call fake miniature or tilt-shift lens effect. Since this is my experimental attempt, I didn’t use Adobe Photoshop for editing process, all editing for these fake miniature or tilt-shift lens effect have done using Photoscape and the result quite impress me. What do you think?

By the way, what’s actually miniature/tilt-shift lens effect? I quote here some definition from Wikipedia.

Tilt-shift miniature faking is a process in which a photograph of a life-size location or object is manipulated so that it looks like a photograph of a miniature scale model.

Actually, in Photoscape there are a lot of effects and photos filters that you can apply to your pictures to produce fake miniature effect. You may explore a bit Photoscape and you may find how great this free editing software. So, here there are, my first experimental attempt on fake miniature or tilt-shift lens effect. Photos/Pictures of Palace of Justice, Putrajaya, Malaysia in HDR

Salam and hello all. Huh, by posted this post doesn’t mean that I already have internet connection at home, actually, I at my cousin’s house at Ara Damansara, Subang and used Maxis Broadband connection to write and post this entry. I yet received any calls from TM for Streamyx matters since last week and have no idea when the connection will be available. Haih, TM please do it fast!

Before I start, some of you might wondering what is HDR means? Here I quoted some part of text from Wikipedia, for details explanation you can proceed here.

In image processing, computer graphics, and photography, high dynamic range imaging (HDRI or just HDR) is a set of techniques that allows a greater dynamic range of luminances between light and dark areas of a scene than normal digital imaging techniques. The intention of HDRI is to accurately represent the wide range of intensity levels found in real scenes ranging from direct sunlight to shadows.

So, in this entry I want to share some photoshop edited pictures of Palace of Justice (Istana Kehakiman), Putrajaya, Malaysia. Actually, it were not totally photoshop edited, but I also used another important software to produce these HDR photos of Palace of Justice, which is Photomatix Pro 3.1. These HDR photos were generated from single RAW shot exposure then, converted into 3 multiple exposures using Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended and finally merged into HDR photo using Photomatix Pro 3.1. The final stage which is tone mapping and some basic editing was done using Photoshop CS3. So, enjoy the photos and do leave your comments for me to improve my skills. Oh, forget to tell you guys, these HDR photos are my first attempt on HDR imaging hence do give some tips for me to improve it. I’m still learning.

Cherating Photoshot

Salam and hello to all, it was been a long time I’m not post any new photo. Actually there are some photos that I was taken recently, but I’m lazy to upload it since the internet connection lately was damn suck. I think the last photo post that I shared was about Astro Fest 2008 and after that no more photo post. Hmm… okay la, this time I’m gonna share some of my photos that I recently taken. All these photos were taken at Cherating beach and was taken last 2 months ago.

Before that, don’t be amazed with the photo above. *I already photoshoped it* hehe.

Anyway, not so many of photos I wanna share this time but all these photos I think the best shot that I got that day. I still trying to play around with manual setting of my camera and still learning to get the best shot. So, any comments are welcomed.

Astro Fest 2008

Hi all, last 2 week (huh, quite old story ), me, my bro, Kak Noor, Tok Teh and Tok Cik plus my auntie, the one who invited us to this happening event went to Astro Fest 2008 at Astro HQ. There are lots of activities held that day, plus…. guess what’s more? many artists are there too. Especially Meet Uncle Hussein, Hujan, Mawi (although i’m not his big fan.. lols..), Velvet, Zizan, adik Haziq (do you watch Tom Tom Bak or Macam-Macam Aznil? if you do, you might be familiar with him), Dynaz, Bob AF, Syawal AF and many more artists are there. Quite lots to list all here..ehehe.. but not just that, we also had a great, fabulous and fantastic acrobatic performance from Cory & Dances team (if I’m not mistaken, that the name they called them) which was brought by Astro here from China. Anyway, it was really a great and awesome performance! *big clap*

Beside the great stage performance, there also so many booth opened freely for all the visitor such as booth for massage, draw yourself caricature and more. Plus, there are lot of games too, so there are lot of things to do here. Not so boring after all. The great thing is all of those thing are F.O.C, no need to pay for it, if you need massage, just go there and had a massage for free. Anyway, the stage performance is the one that i enjoyed most.

Anyway, although the event named as Astro Fest but the event just for Astro staff and family only, luckily my auntie is one of Astro’s permanent staff, so i got an invitation from her. Anyway, nothing much to say, enjoy the picture that i already taken. Read more »

Happy New Year 2008!

Hi all, wanna wish you all Happy New Year 2008!

I don’t know why people celebrated new year happily…lols.. how come this kind of thinking?huhu.. btw, i can see many of blogs, websites, televisyen programs, radios and even newspapers, all talking about new year today.. what’s new year means to you actually? does it means you getting old?or you’ll get something new?or what?.. i’m just thinking why…huhuhu

While talking about new year, many of us will thinking about new resolution, the question frequently come out is “What your new resolution this year?” lols..before we set our new resolution. Think first “Did i achieve my last year resolution?” if not, don’t think about new resolution la…hehee.. btw, i’m not against you to create your new resolution, it’s good to have something that we set to achieve, then we will have some goal in our mind what should we do to achieve that resolution, not just talking but at the same time.. your action..

Well for me, new year celebration is just another celebration.. nothing special beside i’m just getting old and i’ll face more challenge soon (currently on 2nd semester of my bachelor program..)…huhu..

ok,that’s all my words for this new year (huhu..who will read this lol..)… i’ll talk more about what happened in last year, maybe something that i should remember.. well, just wait my another entry (and still thinking..who gonna wait for my next entry?lols..and who will read that?)..
