Final Year Dilemma and Spain as Champion for World Cup 2010

Salam and hello everyone. Sorry for not updating this blog recently, even after my industrial training is already done. Well, I still need to prepare my report and presentation for my industrial training; and all these have done yesterday. Anyway, completing industrial training means require me to be ready for the next usual task for final year student, FINAL YEAR PROJECT. Yes, I’m in final year now and if everything is going smooth, hopefully I’ll be graduating next April. This is the simple video that I have prepared for my industrial training presentation. Actually, it is a last minute video. Haha.

Thinking about FYP, I still don’t have any idea, topic or title to propose. It should be started with identifying problem first, then come out with several option of solutions to solve the problem. Hmmm.. I’m still thinking, or do you have any idea about what should I do for my FYP as a student of Electronic and Communication Engineering? Hehe.

Ok, let’s put aside about FYP for a while and talk about something everyone would talk today, World Cup 2010. I know about the final match between Netherlands and Spain early this morning, and I’m happy to tell you that I didn’t watch the match. Hahaha. I was planning to watch it at first, but due to unexpected headache I had last night, I rather went to sleep and get myself comfortable on my bed. Well, I woke up this morning with fresh and saw most of my friends in Facebook updating about the last match result. Owh, Spain has won the World Cup 2010! Congratulation for those Spain’s supporters. Anyway, that’s it, and that’s the end. Okay, how many of you requesting for MC today? Thanks God, all my lectures for today have been cancelled. Uniten even organised a carnival for this World Cup final and live match telecast. I’m sure most of the students are still sleeping right now. Hehe.

Anyway, I’m not going to write a long entry. I’ll be updating again when I have free time. Well, it’s final year, what do you expect? Hehe.

p/s: I got notification regarding inaccessible problem to this blog, do you experience it? Please let me know. I got notification last night that this blog was down for 16 hours! I’m not sure what was happening, maybe I need to consult with Sam from Serverfreak about this problem since this blog has been moved to new server recently.

UNITEN Open Day 2010 – 20 March 2010 and All the Best to All Unitenians for Upcoming Final Exams

Salam and hello everyone. This is just a quick-less-than-5-minutes-update’s entry. Finally, with GOD wills, I have finished all of my assignments, projects and projects presentation yesterday and now, have to focus more on my upcoming final exams which are going to start this Monday. My final exams schedule are as shown in the screenshot below.

Well, I just want to share one of the events currently organizing by University Tenaga Nasional, which is UNITEN Open Day 2010. You may proceed to this link here for more details about the event. Owh, before I forget, this event is held at Uniten Putrajaya’s campus. Hence, if you are formers form 5 student who just received your SPM result and stay around here, why not come to this event and have some exposures and information regarding what are UNITEN is offering, how is the campus life etc. Ok, proceed here for details if you are interested.

2nd Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2010: 18-21 March 2010

Salam and hello everyone. If you still don’t have any plan for next week’s weekend, ya next week, not this week. I mean not today. Let me suggest you to one of the events you should consider to go next week’s weekend. Here it is, as stated in the title, the 2nd Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2010 is back! Like last year, this year hot air balloon fiesta event will bring 19 hot air balloon participants from all over the globe such as France, New Zealand, Belgium, Netherlands and of course Malaysia too.

For details about the program’s itinerary, please proceed here for details. This event will run for 4 days, I’m not sure which day you should go. If you can come everyday from 18 to 21 March 2010, it would be really great, but anyway, if you ask me which day would be great to go, I will suggest you to go on Saturday (20 March 2010). If you look at itinerary, the schedule for each day is the same, maybe one or two might be different. However, on night of 20 March 2010, there is fireworks show which I think would be great for you if you want to photograph any pictures or you are fireworks’ fans.

Ok, since this event is called hot air balloon fiesta, of course some of you would like to take a ride on any of these hot air balloons, right? Speaking of that matter, you will have the opportunity to ride on it, but you must be ready to pay a few ringgit for the ticket and ready to wait in front of the ticket counter as early as 6.30am to get the ticket. That’s what you have to do if you want to take a ride during morning flight. For evening flight, I’m not sure. If you read my last year entry of this hot air balloon fiesta, you’ll know that the tickets were sold out as early as 7.00am and it were limited to 70 tickets per day only. If the organizer has increased the amount of the tickets for this year hot air balloon fiesta, it would be really great.

Official SPM 2009 Result this Thursday, 11 March 2010 – All the Best to All Former Form 5 Students

Salam and hello all. This is just a quick update as I’m now in a situation where I have to sit in front of my laptop, completing assignments and projects that need to be finished as soon as possible since my final exam is just around the corner. 2 more weeks to go!

Anyway, this is just what I call it, a stress management activity. Whenever I can’t focus on my work, doing something differently from what you’ve to do may fresh you up from your work’s stress. Well, this is me. I don’t know you. Whatever it is, stress management is a must.

Okay, back to the title, I’m not trying to spread out the news since it was already circulating around the internet or maybe in the tv channels already. Well, just to wish all former form 5 students, including one of my sisters, all the best for your upcoming SPM result. Hopefully the efforts that you’ve given before is pay off. Well, don’t simply put SPM is everything, don’t think if you can’t score excellently in SPM you can’t success later. You are wrong if you think that way. You still have a lot of chances and rooms to improve and achieve success. SPM is just one of levels you need to face in order to achieve success, but doesn’t mean you can’t move forward if you can’t make it. I’m saying this because I don’t want to hear another suicide case of student due to failure in SPM like last time. Parents should be more supportive in this matter, don’t judge SPM is everything. Just believe in your sons and daughters that they have done all the best on their side. Whatever result is come out, this is what your sons or daughters have done in their full effort.

Proton EMAS: New Proton Concept Car at Geneva International Motor Show with Pictures

Salam and hello to all. If you still don’t know Malaysia’s national car manufacture, Proton is currently developing their own concept car or maybe will go into production soon, here I tell you. The name of new Proton’s concept car is EMAS which stand for “Eco Mobility Advance Solution” and for the first time, it was shown at Geneva International Motor Show. Proton EMAS, it is a great name in my opinion.

This Proton EMAS concept car is the result of Proton collaboration with Lotus and Italdesign-Giugiaro, and as you can see from several pictures that I have shared below, only one word pop up in my mind “WOW!”. Something totally different from what Proton have produced before. I know some of you may say this is the result of foreign company, but well, knowing that this car is the result of collaboration of engineers from Proton and Lotus and designer from Italdesign-Giugiaro, I think as Malaysian, we should proud of this result. Well, I don’t know you, but me, I’m proud of it.

Well, just enjoy the pictures and leave some of your comments, words, opinions or maybe constructive critics about this new Proton EMAS concept car. All the pictures below are credited to Paultan.org and respected photographers who photograph these pictures.

I’m just hoping Proton will do mass production for this car, even I know it is still “concept” which is most probably won’t be produced. However, if Proton decided to mass produce it, I would be proud to drive it. Price? Wait and see or do you have any expected price in your mind? Do mind to share?

Update: Firework Show at Karnival WOW! Putrajaya

Salam and hello everyone. This is just another quick update for Karnival WOW! Putrajaya that is going to start tomorrow at Tapak Pasar Tani, Presint 2, Putrajaya. According to myJazmanie, visitors will have firework show tomorrow at Putrajaya in conjunction with this carnival and if you want to shoot firework, this is the right time for you to practice your photography skills. Get ready with your gears, tripod, full charged battery etc. Hehe

I’m not sure where is the location for this firework show. It is unlikely it will be shot at PICC like MIFC last year because the location of the carnival is too far from PICC. I’ll update it later, maybe via my Twitter. So, follow me at Twitter for latest update. The firework show is expected to start after the concert, so it would be around 11pm onwards.

Karnival WOW! Putrajaya 20-21 February 2010

Salam and hello everyone. Have you planned anything this weekend? If not, you may consider to bring all your family members, friends and everyone to Karnival WOW! Putrajaya this weekend, on 20 and 21st of February 2010. The purpose of this carnival is to promote Putrajaya Event Calendar throughout this year 2010 including the 2nd Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2010 that will be held from 18th-21st March 2010.

Well, the details for this event is as you can see in the picture below.

If you don’t know where is Tapak Pasar Tani, you can check out the location using Google Map below. Hope it will help. If it doesn’t, look for Putrajaya Millennium Monument, the area for this event is just around this monument.

15Mbps Streamyx? Or Is It Streamyx is Improving?

Salam and hello all. We have already heard about the plan of High-Speed Broadband (HSBB) project that will be carried out soon which able broadband users in Malaysia to enjoy high speed broadband from 10Mbps and up to 1Gbps. Well, I’m not going to write any elaboration, comments, expectations and hopes regarding this next generation of broadband in Malaysia, but what I’m going to share with you is the screenshot below.

This is the screenshot of Streamyx 1Mbps Home Wireless Broadband package broadband speed test by SpeedTest.net and the test was done by my cousin today (13th November 2009) around 1.00 am. Do you see the download speed? What do you have across your mind now? Haha, I have no idea how this could be happened. By the way, you don’t have to worry because it happened only once. Haha! Several tests after above test have shown normal broadband speed around 1.4Mbps download and 0.48Mbps upload.

Even it happened only once, SpeedTest.net has calculated that, to download a movie of 800mb, it would take only 8 minutes of time. Great! I just wish we have that speed really soon and with affordable price. Even some rumors have said, the monthly subscription for 10Mbps broadband connection will cost you around RM500/monthly, I hope these rumors are wrong.

Some more panning shots. These are the best of panning shots that I got during this event. Quite satisfied after tried hundreds of time. Although it were not as great as my friend’s panning shots which is taken with DSLR camera, but these result give me satisfaction after I nearly want to give up trying on panning shot. Haha.

The race has stopped due to the rain and safety issue but some people still maintain at their position. Haha, during this time, I can’t take anymore photos of the cars since my camera focus can’t even focus on the Formula 1 cars and I actually little bit doubt to use high ISO setting on my camera. Ya, you know, high ISO more noise. Some photographer already stop taking photos including me, just enjoying some foreigner doing some funny things to entertain people due to the race has stopped. Sorry, no pictures of them.

But, as a photographer, we have to always be prepared in any kind of situation. Haha, I saw this fella still have passion to take photos even it was raining but, I think it was a good idea to cover up your camera like that. Looks cool, huh?

Photos of Petronas Malaysian Formula 1 Grand Prix 2009 at Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia – Part 1

Salam and hello all. As I have promised before in my previous entry, I’ll share some of pictures that I have taken during Petronas Malaysian Formula 1 Grand Prix 2009 that was held at Sepang International Circuit last weekend. As I said in my previous entry, I went there with one of my housemate and another two friends of my housemate but we had separated during the traffic congestion on the way to SIC. So, me and my friend is one group and another two is one group. However, all of us have bought same section of ticket which is at Hillstand C2 but due to so many people there, we can’t find each other.

Stop till there, even though we only had to pay for a very low price of Formula 1 ticket but for parking, we didn’t get any discount. Hohoho, without any exception, we have to pay another RM50 for the parking which for me, I could say, it was not a proper parking and it wasn’t worth to pay RM50 for this kind of parking. Quite ridiculous price for me. Last time, when we went to SIC for Moto GP, we only have to pay RM5 for the parking but for Formula 1, it was 10 times higher! But, whatever it is, we have to pay for it finally since, if we didn’t pay, we have to park outside SIC and have to walk more than 1km to SIC. Who wants to do this under the hot sun?! What makes this ticket quite not worth for us is because the parking we have paid is valid for 2 days, which are qualifying and race day. But, we only come during the race day and do you think we should get half price of the parking fee? RM25 instead of RM50? LOL..

I think I have gone to far from the purpose of this entry. Ok, I won’t talk much, here we go. These are the pictures that I have taken during the event. Please proceed your reading and be patient while waiting the pictures to be loaded completely since there are a lot of pictures inside. Enjoy the pictures ya.

Here we are, Hillstand C2 Sepang International Circuit! Last time, when we were here for Moto GP, we were at Main Grandstand but for this Formula 1, we think we need to change the spot. Hehehe.

Fans of Ferrari’s Team. I saw many of Ferrari’s fans bring this flag. Hoho. I wonder where they got it.

We have arrived there a little bit early, hence to kill the time, I have taken some candid shots of the fans and those who came to watch this race. Enjoy!

He might be one of Kimi Raikkonen’s fans. (I mean, of course he is..hehehe)

It was very hot at SIC, make sure you drink a lot of water to avoid you from dehydration. But, one bottle of drinking water cost you RM2 and you’re not allowed to bring any outside foods and drinks but allowed to buy the foods and drinks that were sold inside the SIC. What kind of rule is this? Lol..

Ok, the race has started with some warm-up session for all the racers. Here are some typical shots of Formula 1 cars from me. More to come in part 2.

First attempt on panning shot! Not bad, huh?! Considering I’m using prosumer camera which lack of AF (Auto Focus) setting to take this kind of shot, I think this was a nice result. To take this kind of shot, you need to set your camera AF into AF-C, means continuous auto focus that will lock the focus on the car and continuously follow it. Hence, it would be much more easier to get panning shot if your camera have this setting. But, my camera is otherwise. Huhu. Another thing is you need to put your camera into Shutter Priority mode and luckily, my camera have it.

The only solution for me to take this kind of shot using my prosumer camera is to keep following the Formula 1 cars, so my camera focus will follow the cars too. But, it was really hard to do due to the speed of the cars. After hundreds of shots, only several shots have come out with good result. Moral of the story, panning shot needs more practice and off course, more advance gear.

p/s: Candid pictures were shot in Aperture Priority mode whereas the Formula 1 cars were shot in Shutter Priority mode. All pictures were shot with Olympus SP550uz.
