Salam and hello to all. If you still don’t know Malaysia’s national car manufacture, Proton is currently developing their own concept car or maybe will go into production soon, here I tell you. The name of new Proton’s concept car is EMAS which stand for “Eco Mobility Advance Solution” and for the first time, it was shown at Geneva International Motor Show. Proton EMAS, it is a great name in my opinion.

This Proton EMAS concept car is the result of Proton collaboration with Lotus and Italdesign-Giugiaro, and as you can see from several pictures that I have shared below, only one word pop up in my mind “WOW!”. Something totally different from what Proton have produced before. I know some of you may say this is the result of foreign company, but well, knowing that this car is the result of collaboration of engineers from Proton and Lotus and designer from Italdesign-Giugiaro, I think as Malaysian, we should proud of this result. Well, I don’t know you, but me, I’m proud of it.

I’m just hoping Proton will do mass production for this car, even I know it is still “concept” which is most probably won’t be produced. However, if Proton decided to mass produce it, I would be proud to drive it. Price? Wait and see or do you have any expected price in your mind? Do mind to share?

Some of you maybe already know about the winner of this contest, but for those who don’t know who is the winner of the contest “Namakan Proton MPV” or “Name the Proton MPV” that has been organized by Proton last time, here is the answer. The winner is a lucky woman named Norsholihan Bt Abdul Eanich, who will get to drive this Proton Exora and own this 7-seater people mover once it is launched this April.

The name Proton Exora inspired from the name of a flower, Ixora and comes with the tagline “Keriangan Keluarga“. Hmm… Why not I’m thinking of this name last time? Haih…

Salam and hello all. I think most of you already know about this new Proton MPV which will be launched this April 2009. I don’t really know what’s the point Proton told the media about the name of this new MPV earlier than the launch date, for promotion purposes probably? Or just a teaser? Whatever it is, a bit sad to hear that this new Proton MPV which now can be called Proton Exora will only be powered by 1.6 engine. Hello?! Come on Proton, your Proton Waja is already using 1.6 engine and for MPV also want to use the same engine? What do you expect?

By announcing this news yesterday, it means all the rumors that said this new Proton Exora will be using 1.8 engine are totally wrong and the price which expected around RM80k maybe will be less. So, what do you think? For me 1.6 engine is not so suitable for such a MPV that will carry at least 8 peoples inside it. I don’t know how to explain technically but the rough idea in my mind, a MPV at least should use 1.8 engine instead of 1.6 engine.

I don’t want to comment much, but from what others has commented in this entry, I can say that many people will be disappointed after Proton has announced some details of this Proton Exora.

Salam and hello all. Have you seen the latest pictures of the new Proton MPV that expected to be launched next April 2009? I think some of you might already see these pictures, but anyway for those whose yet see the latest spyshot pictures of this new Proton MPV, here there are. I found these pictures at Jijy’s blog and the original pictures are from Cari Forum. From what I can see, these pictures don’t look like it has been photoshoped hence I believe this will be the finalized design for the upcoming new Proton MPV. So, enjoy the pictures.

So, what would you say? And how do you think? Attractive? Impressive? Do voice up what in your mind. But, for me, from what I can see from the exterior part and some part of the interior, this new upcoming Proton MPV has changed a lot from previous Proton’s cars. As you can see, the most major changes that have been made is, Proton’s has changed the steering design for this Proton MPV and most likely it looks like what you see from Honda’s cars and MPVs. From the picture also, what I can tell more is you’ll be able to answer calls just from your fingertip, simply press the appropriate buttons on the steering.

Next, you can expect the radio system that will be occupied in this new Proton MPV will have Bluetooth capability, since you now able to answer your calls by just pressing the buttons on the steering, hence this feature will be useful to operate your mobile phone wirelessly.

Other things I think you can figure out yourself from the pictures above, right? This new Proton MPV which still unnamed expected to use the Campro 1.8 engine and the expected price would be around RM80k. So, what do you think? Interested?

p/s: This new Proton MPV looks promising to me. Since my dad already cancelled his plan to get a Hyundai Starex, I think I’ll recommend him this new Proton MPV. hohoho.

The purpose is of course la to find a good name for their first MPV. Then, what the prize? You can back home with this new MPV! Yes, for real, a new Proton MPV for you if you can suggest a good name for this new MPV. So, brainstorming your mind, and come out with some creative names for this new MPV.
